FAQ

An adventure for the senses awaits you at Fairgrounds, but before you pack and plan your road trip playlist, the Groundskeepers have put together a few points that they recommended reading over before you arrive at Fairgrounds.

WHERE DOES FAIRGROUNDS TAKE PLACE?

Fairgrounds takes place in the picturesque Berry Showgrounds on the NSW South Coast. Our historic site is conveniently situated right next to Berry train station.

WHEN IS FAIRGROUNDS ON? AND WHAT TIME IS MUSIC PLAYING?

Fairgrounds 2016 is open and music is on from;

Friday 2nd December – 5pm to 10.30pm

Saturday 3rd December – 12pm to 11.00pm

We encourage you to head to Berry on Friday afternoon to make the most of your Fairgrounds weekend. It’s the beginning of Summer – a great time to be enjoying Fairgrounds and all that the beautiful South Coast has to offer.

WHAT DOES MY FAIRGROUNDS TICKET GET ME?

Your Fairgrounds ticket for 2016 provides you access to Fairgrounds Festival on BOTH days of the Festival.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO FAIRGROUNDS?

  • Good manners and a sense of fun!
  • Your ticket – most important!
  • Photo ID – you will need to carry this with you at all times, if you wish to access bars.
  • Cash – to minimise time waiting in lines. There are cash points at Fairgrounds’ bars.
  • A picnic rug.
  • Camping/outside chairs.
  • Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, swimmers (we have a pool!)
  • Good sensible shoes – something mum would approve of!
  • Empty refillable water bottle (not glass). Good for your wallet, great for the planet.
  • Insect repellent.

NOT PERMITTED IN ANY FAIRGROUNDS AREA, INCLUDING CAMPS

  • Selfie sticks (just ask us and we’ll take a photo for you)
  • Glass. No glass is allowed for safety reasons.
  • Anything which may reasonably be considered a weapon.
  • Professional photo or video equipment. Small cameras and digital SLRs for personal use are fine.
  • Animals (other than registered guide dogs)
  • Canopies or large shade structures (small 2 person shade tents are ok to bring)
  • Furniture that can’t be folded down (leave the sofa at home but bring those little camp chairs)
  • Eskys, ice boxes. Small packs for keeping baby food cold are fine, of course.
  • There is a total fire ban so leave those BBQs, cookers, gas bottles, fireworks, generators etc at home.
  • Any BYO alcohol.
  • Fairgrounds is a Responsible Service of Alcohol event. As such we search all bags on entry. Not just for alcohol but for anything that may be considered harmful to others.
Any alcohol found will obviously be confiscated. Anyone silly enough to supply a minor with alcohol will be handed over to our friends from the Police. Just like in real life.
  • Any BYO food (exceptions for baby food, medical requirements and campers needs).

WHAT’S THE FOOD SITUATION THIS YEAR?

More food? Hell yes! Fairgrounds has increased eating and drinking options substantially. In 2016 there’s something to fill all rumbling tums! From our bookable long table pop up gourmet restaurant to our delicious picnic mezze plates, from our kids’ tuckshop with healthy meals, fresh fruit and juices to our Garden Bar with locally sourced oysters, cheese platters and champagne. We have old favourites and a swathe of new food stands providing a bountiful supply of delicacies from local foodies and city favourites.

Multiple bars will be serving a choice variety of craft beers, locally sourced wines, champagne and, of course, you can get a stiff drink.

FAIRGROUNDS ON-SITE SWIMMING POOL

Our Swimming Pool is open both Friday and Saturday.
Pool Opening Hours (Fri 2 Dec): 4.30pm-7:15pm
Pool Opening Hours (Sat 3 Dec): 12pm-7:15pm

The pool is limited in capacity so to gain admittance, visit the Pool Kiosk to get a free entry pass. To ensure everybody gets a turn, Saturday is broken up into a series of 50 minute sessions: 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm,  5pm and 6pm. The pool kiosk also has cloakroom facilities for swimmers as well as free sunscreen.
